Gayle Smith Long

— Memorial services for Gayle Smith Long, 66, of Athens, will be 8 p.m. Thursday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with David Bailey and John Smith officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Long passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Decatur General Hospital.

She was born May 30, 1946, in South Carolina to Frazier Smith, Sr. and Helen Henson Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frazier Smith, Sr. and Helen Smith; and brother, Frazier Smith, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, James Long of Athens; son, Jimmy Long and wife, Jerri; daughter, Connie Katherine Evans and husband Allen; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter.
