— The funeral for Katie Ruth Holland, 80, of Priceville will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home with Mike Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Athens.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Holland died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital.

Katie Holland was born April 18, 1932, in Limestone County to Homer H. Terry and Mary Bertha Green Terry. She was a graduate of Carraway Methodist Nursing School and a former nurse at Decatur General Hospital. She retired as head nurse for 27 years at Monsanto in Decatur. She was a member of Priceville Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hughes Holland; and sister, Merline Yancey.

Survivors include daughters, Laurie Smith and husband Randy of Somerville, and Lynn Montgomery and husband Tony of Mount Hope; sisters, Frances Collins of Priceville and Jorene Sherman of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Stacey Hall, Todd Smith, Laura Beth O’Rear, Rachel Speegle Reed and Colt Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Peyton Hall, Ethan Hall, Sawyer Smith, Colten Smith, Ella Reed and Brody Walker; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Todd Smith, Colt Montgomery, Derek O’Rear, Brian Hall, Brian Reed and Max Holland.
