The funeral for J.C. Lovell, 87, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Spry Funeral Home with Don Osborne and Leslie Bagsby officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Lovell died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
He was born June 13, 1925, in Limestone County. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, a World War II Army veteran and participant in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Lovell was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and a retired carpenter.
Survivors include is wife, Ruth Blakely Lovell of Athens; a daughter, Beth Carter and husband Danny of Athens; three sons, Mickey Lovell and wife Patricia, Ronnie Lovell and Tony Lovell, all of Athens; grandchildren, Clint Lovell and wife Joye, Heath Lovell and fiancé Katie, Casey Little and husband Will, Justin Lovell and wife Casey, and Ashton Carter; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Clint Lovell, Justin Lovell, Heath Lovell, Barry Thompson, Buck Thompson and Tom Little.
