Donya Ruth Frost, 53, died at her home in Athens, on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013. She is survived by her parents, Ken and Marianna Frost; three brothers and their wives, Miles and Susan Frost of Athens, Ken and Diane Frost of Corsicana, Texas, and Eric and Margaret Frost of Richmond, Va.; much loved nieces and nephews, Kim Broadway, Athens; Camron Frost, Athens; Bess Frost, Boston, Mass.; Rachel Frost, Terrell, Texas; Daniel Frost, Augusta, Ga.; Kailey Frost, Tacoma, Wash.; Heidi Carter, Florence, and Heather Carter Cotner, Birmingham; great-nieces, Ava Frost, Athens, and Charlotte Frost Hunter, Boston; and great-nephews, Julian Cotner, Birmingham, and Cayden Frost, Athens.
She was an employee of the Birdie Thornton Center in Athens until suffering a stroke on June 29, 2013.
Donya was a gift from God who brought joy and love to all who knew her. Her body was donated to the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham. A service of Joy and Celebration will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 17, at Clements Baptist Church on U.S. 72 West with the Rev. Fred Lackey officiating.
