Marjorie Louise McCallum Coleman, 88, of Lake Mary, Florida passed away Oct. 2, 2012, and Benjamin Ray Coleman, 93, of Lake Mary, passed away Nov. 9, 2013. Ray was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Greenville, S.C., and Marjorie was born July 10, 1924, in Broxton, Ga. They were married 65 years.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Sherman and Alice Luvina Woody McCallum. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Jesse and Eva Bishop Coleman and six siblings.
Marjorie graduated from Mars Hill College in North Carolina and then Baylor University's registered nurse program. Ray was a World War II veteran and worked for Breon Laboratories as a pharmaceutical representative until his retirement at age 65.
They lived in Gadsden, Anniston and Birmingham before moving to Dallas in 1968. In 2001, they moved to Sparks, Nev., and then on to Orlando and Lake Mary.
Survivors include their three sons, Aaron, Allan (Sherry “Harper” from Athens) and Glenn (Norma “Collins”).
Marjorie is survived by her sister, Norenia Meredith Breaux of Cleveland, Tenn. They are also survived by daughter-in-law, JoAnn Tucker Coleman; five grandchildren, Scott Coleman and wife Amber, Ashley Lawrence and husband Joe, Alisha Coleman, Melanie McCracken and husband Michael, and Justin Coleman.
They were proud of their six great-grandchildren, Chasten, Claire, Kate, Tatum, Madison, Bentley and number seven on the way.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at McConnell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to your local Hospice Foundation or charity of choice.
