Marion Brooks

Marion Leon Brooks, 83, of Athens, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born July 15, 1930, in Limestone County.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home with Jordan Lovell, David Cox and Donnie Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until time for the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Brooks was a member of Market Street Church of Christ and a retiree from General Motors.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Rogers Brooks of Athens; four sons, Franklin Brooks, Jerry Smith, Mike Smith and Joey Smith, all of Athens; two brothers, Arnold Brooks of Athens and Jack Brooks of Elkmont; a sister, Annie Pugh of Athens; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
