Billy Carwile

— A graveside service for Billy Dean Carwile, 80, of Decatur, was held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, at Roselawn Cemetery Mausoleum with Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Carwile passed away Friday, June 7, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital.

He retired from Fedders Air Conditioning Co. and was a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur. He was preceded in death by his father, William Bryant “Bill” Carwile and his sister, Margaret Knighten.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Maxie Carwile of Decatur; daughter, Joe Bragg of Huntsville; mother, Ruby Estelle Carwile of Athens; brothers, Maurice Wayne Carwile of Athens, and David Nathan Carwile of Jacksonville, Fla., two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Hogan, Jerry Flowers, Dr. Mike Lowery and Don Simpson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
