Evie Clem

— Evie Christine Clem, 93, of Athens passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Limestone Health and Rehab Center. 

Evie Clem was born Dec. 29, 1919, in Limestone County to Thomas Taylor and Mary E. Clark Taylor. She was a member of First Church of Athens.

The funeral for Mrs. Clem will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery with Dr. Rick Craft, Mark Flaherty and Dale Taylor officiating. 

Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her sons, Hollis Chambers and Linda Hobson, and Harold Johns and wife Nicole; stepdaughter, Bonnie Putman; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin Taylor and wife Mag; sister, Faye Logston and husband Bill; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Taylor; three husbands, Oneal Chambers, Clifford Johns and Fred Clem; grandson, Stephen Putman; and eight brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers are Hershall Austin, Brad Scott, Floyd Adams, Jonathon Craft, Randy Campbell, Ricky Logston, Roger Logston and Troy Taylor.
