— John Wesley Greenhaw, 63, of Athens, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. His visitation and memorial service will be Wednesday, Aug. 7, at McConnell Funeral Home, with the visitation at 10 a.m. and the funeral at 11 a.m.

Mr. Greenhaw was born Sept. 19, 1949, in Athens, to Weaver Dupree Greenhaw and Stella Edna Smith Greenhaw. He was a radio disk jockey for WJMW for five years, worked at Dubs Burgers with all his family, and worked as a state trooper for 32 1/2 years. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbra Lipham, Jean Sharp and Jane Patterson; and one brother, Robert Dexter Greenhaw.

Survivors include one son, Joseph Shane Greenhaw; one granddaughter, Crystal Mia Greenhaw; his mother, Edna Greenhaw; and several nieces and nephews and a lot of friends.
