Ann Porter

Ann Porter, 57, of Rogersville passed away in Athens on Monday, July 14, 2014.

She was born in Florence and grew up in Athens where she attended Athens City Schools. Ann attended Auburn University before completing her degree at Athens State University.

Survivors include her husband, Steve; daughters, Becky Porter and Allison Porter; and father, John Baughman.

Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Elgin Baughman; and her brother, Jimmy Baughman.

Those who knew Ann will remember her smile and her sweet, caring and gentle personality. She loved being a Mom to our daughters Becky, and Allison, and their friends gravitated to Ann's loving and accepting nature. Ann loved being a part of our daughters' lives and they enjoyed having her close to them.

Ann focused her life on supporting her family and friends and that brought her the greatest satisfaction and happiness. We have lost a wonderful Mother, a loving and supportive wife, best friend, and a true example of what we all should strive to be. We will miss her tremendously.

Memorial services will be 5 pm Friday, July 18, at Spry Funeral Home in Athens. Visitation will be 3 p.m. until service time.
