Ishmael “Buddy” Wales

— Ishmael “Buddy” Wales, 92, of Athens passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. 

Mr. Wales was born Jan. 6, 1922, in Limestone County to Ervy Otis Wales and Tula Mae Toone Wales.

The graveside service for Mr. Wales will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Huntsville Memory Gardens with Tommy Reid officiating.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at McConnell Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Miller Wales; three daughters, Linda Szalkucki and husband Ben, Brenda Anderson and husband Ronald, Beverly Reid and husband Tommy; one brother, Hugh Wales; two sisters, Floy Smith and Oetta Adcock; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Josh Young, Zack Young, Jody Anderson, Buddy Anderson, David Justice and Ben Szalkucki.
