Wendell Griffin

Wendell Griffin, 69 of Athens died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Huntsville Hospital. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Spry Funeral Home.

There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. (central); 3 p.m. (eastern) Thursday, Jan. 30, at Wrights Chapel Cemetery in Sylvester, Ga.

Mr. Griffin born July 28, 1944, in Limestone County. He was retired a truck driver, a 1963 graduate of West Limestone High School and a manager of Hanson’s Wrecker Service in Albany, Ga., for more than 20 years.

Survivors include son; David Griffin Jr. of Lafayette, Ga., step-daughters, Melaine Wilson of Albany, Ga., and Cathy Gaddy of Wilmington, N.C.; grandchildren, Nicholas Griffin and Olivia Griffin; brother; James Griffin of Rogersville; sister, Annette McGlocklin of Athens, and nieces and nephews.
