Eric Greer

Eric Wayne Greer, 44, of Athens passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at home.

Mr. Greer was born March 7, 1969, in Limestone County to Jerry and Brenda Greer. He graduated from East Limestone High School in 1987.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Juanita Wales Schrimsher of Athens and R.B. “Doc” and Cindy Greer of Altoona.

He was employed at Steelcase prior to becoming plant manager at Athens Industrial Stripping Service. Eric was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Services for Mr. Greer are at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Fairview Baptist Church. The viewing hour is noon until 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with George Whitten and Keith Crouch officiating.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Chasty Chambers Greer; son, Alec Greer; daughter, Emme Greer; parents, Paul Jerry and Brenda Schrimsher Greer; brother, Paul Greer and wife Elizabeth; nephew, John Paul Greer; niece, Kaley Greer; grandfather, Clifford Schrimsher.

Pallbearers are John Paul Greer, Greg Adams, Todd Tomerlin, Todd Crouch, Chris Phillips, Chad Baugher, Mack Schrimsher and Malcolm Schrimsher. Honorary pallbearers are Stanley Menefee, Howard Eisenhart, Donnie Crunk, Clay Montgomery, Jim Martindale, Donnie Story, Brad Baugher, Randy Greer and Terry Greer.
