The funeral for Jewel Romine, 94, of Clearwater, Fla., will be Wednesday at Eternal Rest Memories Park and Funeral Home at 2966 Belcher Road in Dunedin, Fla.
Mrs. Romine died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, in Clearwater.
She was born May 1, 1919, in Limestone County to Wiley B. and Ona Hill Stinnett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollen T. Romine.
She is survived by her children, Shan Swanson of Harrisburg, Pa., Maurice Romine of Madison, Jim Romine of Largo, Fla., Kay Samson of Tivon, Israel, and Mark Romine of Clermont, Fla.; and 15 grandchildren.
Jewel was a dedicated Christian, a faithful wife, a devoted mother and a friend of many acquaintances. As a child, she grew up in a farming community that was named after her family, an area known as Stinnett Hollow. She moved to Clearwater in 1956 and co- Romine’s Carpet & Drapery Centers with her husband.
Upon retiring, Jewel lived in Spring Hill, Fla., where she was a member of the Mariner Boulevard Church of Christ. She returned to Clearwater in 2008 to live at The Oaks of Clearwater, where she was loved and respected by all of her newfound family of friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Florida College of Temple Terrace, Fla., or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
