D.C. Waddell

— D.C. Waddell Sr., 90, of Rogersville, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at ECM Hospital in Florence. The funeral will be at noon today, Sept. 24, at Spry Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:45 a.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Higgins Cemetery with Vic Vickers and James Waddell officiating.

Mr. Waddell was born Dec. 6, 1922, in Lauderdale County. He was retired from Economy Forms. He was also a World War II Navy veteran and council member of the Senior Citizens of Rogersville. The family would like to thank Dr. Gaputis, Dr. Balbecki and the Rogersville Senior Center.

Survivors include his wife, Nadine Waddell of Rogersville; two sons, D.C. Waddell Jr. and wife, Martha, of Killen, and James Waddell and wife, Linda, of Rogersville; a daughter, Shelby Tucker of Rogersville; three step-daughters, Jimmie Ann Hinton and husband, Mack, of Rogersville, Judi Wilson and husband, Ronnie, of Addison, and Cathy Hickey and husband, Mike, of Cullman; a sister, Inita Hamby of Elkmont; two brothers, Talmadge Waddell of Athens and Clifton Waddell of Decatur; eight grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, and one step- great-great –grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Jeff Waddell, Shane Waddell, Tyler Waddell, Dennis Tucker, Jamey Waddell and Marty Hinton. Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Waddell, Wes Shirley and Will Shirley.
