Hiram Higginbotham

— The funeral for Hiram Glen Higginbotham, 77, of Athens will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at Spry Funeral Home with Bill Irby and Tom Holland officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at the funeral home.

Mr. Higginbotham died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital.

Mr. Higginbotham was born July 29, 1935, in Franklin County, Tenn. He was a member of West Hobbs Street Church of Christ and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was retired from Redstone Arsenal and was a member of Pipefitter Local No. 566.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill Higginbotham, Fred Higginbotham, James Higginbotham and Lloyd Ray Higgibotham

Survivors include his wife, Doris Holland Higginbotham of Athens; a daughter, Stephani Latimer and husband Mike of Athens; grandchildren, Lacy Beth Latimer Newton and husband Christopher of Athens and Brandt Latimer and wife Megan of Athens; great-grandson, Brock Newton; one brother, Charles Higginbotham of Decatur; two sisters, Ellen Knox of Athens and Judy Holland of Ardmore; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Brett Holland, Bradley Holland, Daren Holland, Jay Holland, Pat Holland and Chuck Higginbotham.
