Clyde Bridges

The funeral for Clyde Edward Bridges, 80, of Athens will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at Spry Funeral Home with Mike Davis, Ernest Campbell, Robert Morris Noble and Bill Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bridges died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at home.

Clyde Edward Bridges was born June 16, 1933, in Limestone County. He retired from the Limestone County Schools system and was later inducted into the Limestone County Sports Hall of Fame. Mr. Bridges was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Central Church of Christ in Athens.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Redding Bridges of Athens; daughters, Dawn Mancuso M.D. and husband Tony of Madison, and Jennifer Edette Bridges of Atlanta; sister, Vaughn Bridges Wisotzke of Milwaukee; granchildren, Allyson Mancuso and Camille Mancuso; niece, Brenda Armour; and nephew, Mark Wisotzke.

Memorials may be made to Clearview Cancer Institute and Gentiva Hospice.
