Billy Joe Champion

The funeral for Billy Joe Champion, 78, of Decatur will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Sims officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation is noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Champion passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at home. He was born May 11, 1935, in Morgan County to John and Jewel Sisk.

Mr. Champion retired from the state of Alabama and worked with civil engineers building roads in Morgan and Limestone counties for 30 years.

Mr. Champion was preceded in death by his parents; and by his wife, Millard Champion.

Survivors include his son, Billy Joe Champion II of Decatur; sister, Mary Knox of Decatur; and granddaughter, Morrigan Gabrille Champion of Danville.
