Bonnie Thornton

Bonnie Sue Thornton, 75, of Athens passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. 

Mrs. Thornton was born Aug. 1, 1937, in Iron City, Tenn., to James Mack Hardwick and Virginia Dare Weaver Hardwick.

The funeral for Mrs. Thornton is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.   Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Bill Perkins officiating.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thornton was a member of Central Church of Christ.  She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Samaniego and husband Rick, and Bobbi Bailey and husband Grayson; sisters, Peggy Arnett and husband Bob, and Patti Risner and husband Mike; brother, James Hardwick and wife Wanda; mother, Virginia Hardwick; grandchildren, Thomas and Tyler Samaniego, and Samantha and Josh Bailey; a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Thomas Samaniego, Tyler Samaniego, Josh Bailey, Chuck Farmer, Joel Chisholm and Lenny Sims.
