James Knittel

James Ronald Knittel, 77, of Athens passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, at home.

Mr. Knittel was born Aug. 15, 1935, in Johnson, Tenn., to George Fred Knittel and Lela Leola Daugherty Knittel. He was a member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church, and enjoyed playing golf.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Dusty McLemore and Joseph Scott officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation is from 10-10:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Knittel of Athens; two daughters, Rhonda Lambert of Madison, and Donna Hornak of Hatboro, Pa.; son, Mike Knittel of Bristol, Va.; and sister, Jo Ann Dent of Nesbitt, Miss.
