Mahlon Adams

— The funeral for Mahlon Reed Adams, 84, of Elkmont will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Spry Funeral Home with Greg Legg officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Adams died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Mahlon Adams was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Limestone County. He retired after 40 years at Burgreen Construction. He was a member of Hays Mill Church of Christ.

He was preceded in  death by his parents, Carter Adams and Mattie Davis Adams; brother, Harry Adams; and sister, Sarah Maude Clem.

Survivors include his wife, Mamie Delois Adams of Elkmont; son, Daniel Reed Adams of Elkmont; daughter, Judy Adams Stanford and husband Randy of Elkmont; sisters, Polly Crabtree of Ardmore, Tenn., Shirley Burkhart and Cordelia Robinson, both of Elkmont; brother, John David Adams of Elkmont; grandsons, Jayson Reed Adams and wife Melissa, and Brandon Neil Stanford and wife Colby; great-grandsons, Elliot Walker Stanford and Colin Reed Adams; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Daniel Reed Adams, Jayson Reed Adams, Randy Stanford, Brandon Neil Stanford, Randy Campbell and Terry Robinson.
