A memorial service for David Robert Embody, 64, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at First Baptist Church in Tanner with James Williams and Keith Tuberville officiating.
Visitation is at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Mr. Embody died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital.
David Embody was born Dec. 26, 1948, in Jacksonville, Ill. He was employed by Calhoun College at the Limestone Correctional Facility. Mr. Embody was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Embody of Athens; daughters, Dana Bogard and husband Tim of Korea, Christie Baker and husband Rusty of Marion, Ill., and Beth Avery and husband Phillip of Athens; brother, Richard Embody of Goreville, Ill.; sisters, Carolyn Embody and Constance Edmon, both of Joliet, Ill.; grandchildren, Marquis Embody, Abby Avery, Kaylee Baker, Andrew Avery, Gaje Baker and Kelby Bogard; nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the National Stroke Association.
