Billy Ray Weatherford

Billy Ray Weatherford, born on Nov. 11, 1934, in Repton, departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, to go home and be with Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Kay Lewis Weatherford.  He is survived by his wife, Naomi G. Weatherford, as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Don and Shelba Jensen of Maui, Hawaii.

He is also survived by his four children as follows: Daughter, Cherilyn Weatherford Kent and her husband Richard of Houston; son, Philip Weatherford and his wife Patricia of Montgomery; son, Alan Weatherford and his wife Sherry of Mobile; daughter, Deanna Weatherford Harris and her husband Kenneth of Saraland.

Dad was blessed with nine grandchildren, Michael Weatherford, Holly Weatherford Harris, Jonathan Harris, Whitney Weatherford Daugette, Timothy Holder, Bryan Harris, Joshua Weatherford, Jessica Harris and Sarah Harris. He was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren, Caleb, Ashlyn, Emma, Kyleigh, Eli, Logan, Ella Katherine, Colin and Rory; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

We will miss you in what time remains for us in this life and we look forward to being with you and Mom in Heaven.

In lieu of flowers and to honor Dad’s wishes, the family requests donations be made to either The Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) Program (with checks payable to UAB), Attn: Meredith Husnik, Development Office, 1720 2nd Avenue South, BDB 479, Birmingham, AL  35294-0012; or Springhill Home Health and Hospice, 22 N. Mobile Street, Mobile, AL  36607.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at noon prior to services. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
