Catherine Eldridge

Catherine Delores Eldridge, 82, of Odessa, Mo., passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Odessa, surrounded by family.

The funeral is at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, telephone 816-633-5524. Burial will be in the Greenton Cemetery.

Delores was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Athens to Murphy and Fannie (Bond) Buckelew.  On August 5, 1961, she was united in marriage to Sherman Grant Eldridge in Miami, Okla.  He preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2007. Delores worked for the Sunshine Biscuit Company located in the Fairfax District of Kansas City, Mo., for 22 years.  After her retirement she was a full time homemaker.  She and Sherman were members of the First Baptist Church of Odessa. Delores was a member of the Eastern Star for 25 plus years and was a member of the Star Club. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, canning, sewing, tending to her flowers, socializing, but most of all spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include two children, Kathy Logan and fiancé Steve Barker of Kansas City, Mo., and Ronnie Eldridge and wife Susan of Union Town, Kan.; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Yvonner Pitts, Faye Hill and Pauline Carter all of Athens; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Delores was preceded in death by a son, Michael Davis in September 2009; two brothers, Milford and T.W. Buckelew; and a sister, Zeola Carter.

Pallbearers are, Derek Sanders, William Wade, Boston Sanders, Steve Barker, Barry Wade and Chase Wade.
