Mary Shaheen

Mary Ola Raney Shaheen, 87, of Florida passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Loxahatchee, Fla. Mrs. Shaheen was born March 30, 1926, in Limestone County to Claude Raney and Nellie McCuen Raney.

Services are at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Poplar Creek Baptist Church with James Lemay and Judge Jerry Bates officiating. The viewing hour is 9-10 a.m. Burial will be in Poplar Creek Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 22-23, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shaheen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dearborn, Mich., and Saint Ann Catholic Church in West Palm Beach, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Nellie Raney; four brothers, Louie Raney, Ed Raney, Paul Raney and Spears Raney; and sister, Douglas Raney Davis.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Shaheen of Wellington, Fla.; daughter, Mary “Jodie” Marder of West Palm Beach; two grandchildren, Frank Schlaff of Miami, Fla., and John Schlaff of Taos, N.M.; two brothers, Silas Raney of Louisville, Ky., and Ross Raney and wife Pat of Athens; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Frank Schlaff, John Schlaff, Danny Raney, Stephen Raney and Mike Raney.
