Retha Arra

The memorial service for Retha G. Arra, 82, of Lester will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at McConnell Funeral Home with Mark Johnson officiating.

Visitation is 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Arra passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in 1931 in Giles County, Tenn., to Hazel Gatlin and O Ceil Gatlin. She worked at Dow Beckman in Cleveland, Ohio, Athens Lingerie and Stephens in Pulaski, Tenn. She spent most of her time as a homemaker.

Mrs. Arra was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim Arra; two sons, Mike and Greg Arra; one sister, Edie Eubanks.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori Arra of Lester; and Greg’s widow, Patty; and one grandson, Cody Arra; one brother, Tommy Gatlin and wife Charlotte who is a very dear friend as well as sister-in-law; three sisters, Lenna Ruth Bates of Athens, Barbara Adams of Lester, Joan Craig and husband Allen, and loving sisters-in-law, Madelaine Merritt and husband Tim, Rose Williamson and husband Dick, Barb Arra, all of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
