— The funeral for Zane Stinnett, 81, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Spry Funeral Home with Dan Binkley and Kevin Harbin officiating. Burial will be in Sandlin Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the funeral home.

Mr. Stinnett died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at Athens Rehabilitation Center and Senior Care.

Zane Stinnett was born March 14, 1932, in Limestone County and was a graduate of West Limestone High School. He was a retired carpenter where he was a builder for more than 40 years. He was a member of Carriger Church of Christ in Athens.

Zane was a loyal husband, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and father-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Stinnett Sr. and Edna Pearl Clay Stinnett; and brother, Robert Lee Stinnett Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Millanee Moore Stinnett of Athens; children, Teresa Stinnett Suit, Dannie Stinnett and wife Kay, all of Athens, Bobby Stinnett and wife Lori of Meridianville, and Tim Stinnett of Elkmont; sister, Judy Chander and husband Ronald of Athens; four granddaughters, Jessica French and husband Brandon, Ashley Stinnett and Noelle Suit, all of Athens, and Morgan Stinnett of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; one step-granddaughter, Ashley Parker of Meridianville; one step-grandson, David Suit of Valhermoso Springs; one great-grandson, Gracen French of Athens; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a host of friends; and one lifelong friend who was more like a brother, Avery Noblitt of Athens.

Pallbearers include Jeremy Helms, Sean Hooie, James Schrimsher, Steve Benge, David Hardaway and Mark Hardaway. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Stinnett, Anthony Stinnett, Ralph Moore, Benjy Taylor, Greg Thomas, Herschel Parker, James Fleming, Ricky Berzett and Glenn Aderholt.
