Reba Peek

— Mrs. Reba Irene Peek, 89 ,of Athens died Monday, May 5, 2014, at Huntsville Hospital. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Spry Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Spry’s with Guy McDaniel and Matt Taylor officiating and burial in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Peek was born Sept. 29, 1924, in Limestone County. She was a member of O’Neal Church of Christ for 72 years and she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oather Peek, and a brother, Grady Moss.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Peek, Athens; granddaughters, Sharon Johnson of Huntsville,  Shawn (Monte) Hazlewood, Athens, and Sabrina (Chad) Adams, Elkmont; great-grandchildren, Justin (Leah) Swinney, Kristen (Prentice) Chandler, Patrick Cassidy and Jade Adams; great-great-grandchildren, Silas Chandler and Kinley Swinney; a brother: Bobby Adams, of Athens; four sisters, Wynell Casteel of Athens, Nora Madry of Illinois, Marie Showalter of Virginia, and Estelle Tucker of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Smith, Bobby Adams, Justin Swinney, Chad Adams, Monte Hazlewood and Prentice Chandler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Glenn Pressnell, John Paul Johnson, Jerry Adams and Jimmy Looney.
