The funeral for Mildred Ann Davis Grisham, 67, of Saginaw, Mich., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Spry Funeral Home with Jim Bullington, Edsel Bates and Buford Eubanks officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Grisham died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at University Michigan Medical Center.
Mildred Grisham was born Feb. 22, 1946, in Limestone County. She was a Christian and follower of Christ. She was employed as a customer service manager for Walmart in Saginaw. Mrs. Grisham was a supporter of rescue missions for hunger and the homeless, and animal shelters. She was an advocate for ovarian cancer research.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Prentis and Syble Davis.
Memorials may be made to First National Bank in Athens; Mildred’s Angels Fund for families with transportation needs to be with terminally ill patients; or Downtown Rescue Mission in Huntsville.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Grisham of Saginaw; son, Doug Pittman of Athens; daughters, Angie Cook Norwood of Athens and Tina Lynn Cook of Saginaw; granddaughters, Taylor Dye of Auburn, Baylee Dye and Hayden Norwood, both of Athens; stepson, Jeremy Grisham of Athens; stepdaughters, Cindy Grisham Crawford, Shauna Grisham Landers and Bobbie Jerrie Grisham, all of Athens, and Shala Grisham Broadway of Ardmore; eight step-grandchildren; beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Mike Blakely, Clifton Blakely, Stanley Scott, Herbert Sides, David Bates, Gerald Barlow, Gideon Flanagan and Larry Burlingame. Honorary pallbearers are Buford Eubanks and Billy Eubanks.
