Howard ‘Bab’ Daly

— Howard E. “Bab” Daly, 83, of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

He was born May 11, 1929, in Madison County to Mason Henry Daly and Ethel Coble Daly.

Services for Mr. Daly are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Ralph Johnson and Eddie Gooch officiating.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Horace Daly, sons, Timothy Dale Daly and Edward Ray Daly.  

Mr. Daly is survived by his wife of 64 years, Robie Whitfield Daly of Athens; his son, Kenneth Daly and wife Glory of Athens; his daughter Patsy Hazlewood and husband Hal of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; a grandson, Wil Daly and wife Kim of Athens; a granddaughter, Whitney Daly Chenoweth and husband Kenny of Harvest; a grandson, Ben Hazlewood and wife Jenny of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; great-granddaughter, Megan Daly; great-grandsons, Johnathon Daly, Hudson Hazlewood and Sawyer Hazlewood; his sister, Joyce Groce and husband Gene of Fayetteville, Tenn., and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Wil Daly, Kenny Chenoweth, Johnathon Daly, Ben Hazlewood, Kenneth Daly and Tony Groce. Honorary pallbearers are J.T. Webster, Bonnie Sutton, Mac Reynolds, William Eaton, Hal Hazlewood, Gene Groce and Mike Horne.
