Marty Wayne Boyd

— Marty Wayne Boyd, 68, of Athens, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital.

Mr. Boyd was born April 17, 1944, in Limestone County to Fred Elmer Boyd and Ella Edna Legg Boyd.

The funeral for Mr. Boyd will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dement Cemetery with Jimmy Clark officiating. 

Visitation will be from noon to 1:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Boyd was a member of the Church of Christ. He had retired from Boeing in Huntsville. 

He is survived by his wife, Eunice Pepper Boyd of Athens; four daughters, Nikki Peacock of Athens, Renee Tanner and husband Brian of Orlando, Fla., Shannon Abernathy and husband Steve of Athens, and Amy Boyd of Huntsville; grandchildren, Lindsey Peacock and Tyler Trotter, Kelsey Peacock, Eva Rae Abernathy, Carson Kennedy, Alison Abernathy, Gabby Roberts, Cassi Westbrock, Cadey Westbrock and Kayden Boyd; great-grandchildren, Kendall Tribble and Tyson Trotter; brother, Ronny Body and wife Linda; and sister, Carol Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Joe Benson, Ron Boyd, Patrick Boyd, Ron Currin, Carson Kennedy, Chris Padgett, Jim Taylor and Mike Westbrock. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Bigham, Sonny Kelly, Jim Owens, Fred Pepper, John David Brownlow, David Clem and Bob Pepper.
