Callie Griswold

— The funeral for Callie Lou Griswold, 87, of Athens will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Spry Funeral Home with Dan Hughes and Daniel Metcalf officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Griswold died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Parkway Medical Center in Decatur.

Callie Griswold was born Oct. 27, 1925, in Limestone County. She was a homemaker, and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Athens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Thomas Griswold; son, Joe Griswold; infant son, Stephen Griswold; daughter, Angela Griswold; and infant daughter, Hope Griswold.

Survivors include daughters, Kay Green of Athens and Paulette Bremer of Houston; sons, Tim Griswold of Athens and Tom Griswold of Augusta, Ga.; sister, Lena May Flanagan of Michigan; grandchildren, Brandon Griswold, Tyler Varnagatas and Stephanie Green, all of Athens, Justin Griswold and Stacey Dorn, both of Atlanta, Lance Bremer of Houston, and Kim Ling of Oxford, Miss.; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Brandon Griswold, Tyler Varnagatas, Justin Griswold, Lance Bremer, Al Ling and Travis Dorn. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Looney, Tim Shores and Lance Green.

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
