— The funeral for Verna Perry, 92, of Athens will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Spry Funeral Home with Charles Thompson and Henry Carter officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Perry died Monday, May 6, 2013, at Limestone Health Facility.

Verna Perry was born Feb. 16, 1921, in Limestone County. She retired as lunchroom manager for Athens City Schools, and was an avid volunteer for the Boy Scouts. Mrs. Perry was a lifetime member of Tanner Church of Christ.

Survivors include son, Gerald Perry and wife Brenda of Athens; daughter, Sandra Hogan and husband Ron of Houston, Texas; sisters, Merle Thompson of Athens and Ruth Carr of Huntsville; son-in-law, Bill Greene of Athens; daughter-in-law, Betty Perry of Athens; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
