Bertha Pitman

— The funeral for Bertha B. Pitman, 93, of Rogersville is 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at McConnell Funeral Home with Jerry Curry and Steve Klein officiating.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at McConnell.

Mrs. Pitman died Wednesday June 25, 2014, at home.

She was born May 6, 1921, in Limestone County to Clinton Clifton Bowers and Bithy Gates Bowers. She was a homemaker. She was a member at New Georgia Church of Christ.

Mrs. Pitman was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Earl Pitman; one son, Kenneth Wright; one sister, Marie Eldrod; and one brother, Van Bowers.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Louise Vaughn and Jackie Carol Poss, both of Rogersville; one brother, Albert Bowers of Athens; two sisters, Ozell Vining and Louise Tucker, both of Athens; nine grandchildren, Laura Wells, Milton Vaughn Jr., Angie Wilcoxson, Wendy Hammonds, Delana Whitman, Rita Wright, Edith Tucker, Shelly Wright and Alvin Poss Jr.; 21 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Milton Vaughn Jr., Trae Poss Jr., Jason Wilcoxson, Michael Tucker, Kenneth Edward Wright, Scott Vaughn and Cole Arnold.
