Suzanne Schofield

Suzanne Mankin Schofield, 54, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014, after a long battle with liver cancer. Suzanne was born Nov. 26, 1959, in Limestone County to Tom Mankin and Margaret Turner Mankin.

Services will be noon Thursday, July 17, at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church with Dusty McLemore, Joel Carwile and Alan Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Legg Cemetery.

Visitation is 10-11:45 a.m., Thursday, at the church.

Suzanne was raised in the Leggtown community of West Limestone and is a graduate of West Limestone High School. She worked at Limestone County Courthouse for nearly 20 years. She was a longtime children’s church, Awana Cubbies and Sunday school teacher at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church.

Suzanne's survivors include her husband, Sonny Schofield, minister of education at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church; her two children, Amber Schofield Smalley and husband Jeremy of Arab, and Andrew Schofield of Athens; two brothers, Jerry Mankin and wife Jane of Tennessee, and Joey Mankin of Texas; one sister, Carol Terceno and husband Raul of Madison.

Pallbearers will be Mickey Wolfe, Joseph Scott, John Holland, Tommy Reid, Bradley Griggs and Daryl Brooks. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Sturdivant and Edd Carter.
