Robert 'Bob' Earl Harvey

— The funeral for Robert “Bob” Earl Harvey, 83, of Athens, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Phil Daws officiating. Burial will follow in Athens Memory Gardens with military honors.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Spry Funeral Home.

Mr. Harvey died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at his residence.

He was born April 6, 1929, in Limestone County. He attended Friendship United Methodist Church in Athens. He was a Korean-era veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the retired owner and operator of Harvey Sales, and formerly employed by H.H. Smith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Harvey; brothers, Roy Harvey and Howard Harvey; and sisters, Irene Griffin and Christine Black.

He is survived by his sons, Andy Harvey and wife Debra of Chattanooga, Tenn., Larry Harvey of Elkmont and David Harvey and wife Judy of Athens; grandchildren, Travis Harvey, Austin Harvey, Laurie Harvey, Justin Harvey, Joshua Harvey, Nicholas Harvey, and Clint Harvey; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maxine Daws of Athens and Louise Holt of Athens; brothers, J.W. Harvey of Athens and Harold Harvey of Goodsprings; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
