Christine Laxson

— Christine Pressnell Laxson, 91, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, in Haines City, Fla. She was born Aug. 8, 1921, in Athens to the late Harvey Monroe Pressnell and Molly Myrick Pressnell.

The funeral for Mrs. Laxson will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fielding Cemetery with Bill Perkins officiating. 

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the funeral home.

Christine Laxson was a resident of Florida for 49 years. She was a member of Dundee Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, a devoted mother and the matriarch of five generations.

She was preceded in death by husband William Edward Laxson; son, William Edward Laxson Jr.; and grandchildren, David Torris and Gina Leigh Colvett.

Survivors include her daughters, Bernice Christiansen of Winchester, Tenn., Annetta Laxson of Tampa, Fla., Evelyn Melvin of Lake Wales, Fla., Donna Laxson of Sevierville, Tenn., Tina Richards of Knoxville, Tenn., and Dr. Christy Franklin of Omaha, Neb.; sons, Gerald Laxson of Winston Salem, N.C., Stan Laxson of Birmingham, Daniel Laxson of Tampa, Fla., and Larry Laxson of Ona, Fla.; 34 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
