Paul Edward Black

— The funeral for Paul Edward Black, 73, of Athens, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Bill Irby officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Black passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 14, 1940, in Kentucky to Raymond Lester Black and Rosalie Griffin Black. He was a member of West Hobbs Street Church of Christ.  For many years, he worked for A&P, Hometown and finally retiring at L&S Supermarket.

He is survived by his daughter, Terri Black; most beloved grandson, Matthew Riley Black; and brother, Donnie “Bruno” Black and wife Ann.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wendolyn Webb Black; sons, Paul Michael Black and Paul Mark Black; parents, Raymond and Rosalie Black; and brother, Lester Black.

Pallbearers are Billy McNatt, Billy McMullins, Billy Black, Billy Smith, Jeff Black, Matthew Black and Wayne Baucom. Honorary pallbearers are Dick Smith, Darryl Lee, Tommy Black, Charlie Hobson, Dennis Black, L.E. Webb, Leon Hill, Lee Gordon, Carlos Shannon, Benton Black and Jerry Smith.

Memorials may be made to The Heart Fund, The Diabetes Fund or the American Cancer Society.
