R.T. Hathcote

— R. T. Hathcote, 90 of Gallatin, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014. 

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home in Gallatin, Tenn., with the Rev. Wert Campbell officiating.  Entombment will follow in Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Kenneth Hathcote, Terrell Hathcote, Christopher Hathcote, Gary Noe, John Walker and Max Siders serving as pallbearers.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. until time of the service. 

Mr. Hathcote was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Nettleton, Miss., son of the late Roman Thomas Hathcote and Lula Pearl Roberts Hathcote. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladysann Springer Hathcote; and sister, Otie Smith. 

Survivors include sons, Robert T. Hathcote and wife Jolayne of Athens, and Ken A. Hathcote and wife Anne of Gallatin; sister, Ruby May Brown of Tupelo, Miss.; grandchildren, Terrell Hathcote and wife Lauren, Christopher Hathcote, Kenneth Hathcote and wife Hollye and Leighton Hathcote Noe and husband Gary; great-grandchildren, Reagan Hathcote and Jensen Hathcote. 

Mr. Hathcote was a U. S. Army World War II veteran who served in the South Pacific theatre.  He was an electrical engineer and retired from TVA.  Also, he was a member of King Solomon Lodge No. 94, a Master Mason and Shriner.
