Sozo “Bubba” Yokoyama

Sozo “Bubba” Yokoyama, 85, of Tokyo, Japan, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, in Tokyo.

Mr. Yokoyama was influential in starting the Japanese Junior Ambassador Friendship Mission. He traveled many times to Athens and Limestone County as part of the program.

Mr. Yokoyama is survived by his wife and many, many friends from Athens, Limestone County, the state of Alabama, throughout the United States and across the world.

There will be no wake or funeral service to the public. A few relatives will gather for his funeral in Tokyo at his request.

Mr. Yokoyama always let it be known that this was his way to go, “Lonely Pine Tree Hut, Uncle So.”
