John Robert Fielding Jr., 86, of Athens, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born April 6, 1927, in Limestone County to John Robert Fielding Sr. and Eula Rogers Fielding.
Services for Mr. Fielding are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fielding Cemetery with Mark Johnson and Jordan Lovell officiating.
He was a member of Salem Church of Christ and the V.F.W. He is the former owner of Fielding Harley-Davidson. He was a Navy veteran of World War II where he served on the USS Cotten.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Jean Fielding; a son, Bruce Fielding; a grandson, Brandon Fielding and wife Lisa; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Lily Fielding; and sister-in-law, Elmarie White.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eula Fielding; sisters, Eula Lee Clark and Pauline Lovell; and a son, Billy Fielding.
Pallbearers are William Lovell, Steven Lovell, Tim Clark, Glenn King, Marty Wilson and Larry Tarpley.
