Paul Raney

Paul Raney, 83, of Athens, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Limestone Health Facility. He was born July 11, 1930,  in Limestone County to Claude Raney and Nellie McCune Raney. 

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18,  at Limestone Memorial Gardens with James Lemay officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. 

Mr. Raney was a farmer and a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. 

He is survived by two brothers, his twin, Silas Raney of Louisville, Ky., and Ross Raney and wife, Patricia, of Athens; a sister, Mary O. Shaheen and husband, Frank, of Wellington, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Nellie Raney; brothers, Luie Raney and Claude Raney Jr., and a sister, Douglas Mae Davis.
