Evelyn McMeans

Evelyn Faye Boyd McMeans, 71, of Elkmont passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at her son's home. Mrs. McMeans was born Nov. 22, 1941, in Limestone County to Bob Boyd and Evelyn Terry Boyd.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Evelyn Boyd; husband, Samuel E. “Buddy” McMeans Sr.; son, Robert M. “Robin” McMeans; infant daughter, Eugenia Faye McMeans; sister, Edith Wilson; and brother, Terry Boyd.

Survivors include a son, Samuel E. McMeans Jr. and wife Ginger; grandchildren, Will McMeans and wife Meagan, Eli McMeans, Kristiea McMeans Woodall and husband Jeremy and Jessica McMeans; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice Pirtle and husband Dallas, Teresa Moss and husband Ronnie; brother, Randall Boyd and wife Lisa; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McMeans retired from the City of Athens Council on Aging where she drove the Senior Citizens bus for 28 years.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Steve Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Will McMeans, Jimmy McMeans, Gary McMeans, Terry Bob Boyd, Scott Wilson and Brad Stone. The honorary pallbearer is Eli McMeans.
