Mildred Green

— Mildred Miller Green, 90, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013. She was born in Limestone County and was a longtime resident of Athens.

Mildred was a proud homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Mary Lou Miller; her sister, Clara Roberson; and three brothers, Wesley Miller, Marvin Miller and John Miller.

Survivors include her husband, Clifton Green; her daughters, Susan Ragasa and husband Joe, and Lou Ann Schrimsher and husband Malcolm, all of Athens; and her son, David Green and wife Mary of Bellaire, Texas; four grandchildren, Scott Ragasa and wife Claire of Huntsville, Evan Ragasa and wife Samantha of Prattville, Clifton Green and wife Fabiola of Newport News, Va., Suzy Wolfe and husband Chris of Houston; two great-grandchildren, Conrad and Heidi Green.

Mildred attended First United Methodist Church in Athens and was a longtime member of the women’s Sunday school class.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice of Limestone County or to First United Methodist Church.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, Aug. 22, at Athens City Cemetery with Pastor George Whitten of Fairview Baptist Church officiating. Malcolm Schrimsher provided the music.

McConnell Funeral Home handled arrangements.
