Leza Sweetland Nixon

The graveside service for Leza Sweetland Nixon, 56, of Athens, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Athens City Cemetery with Bud White officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p. m. Saturday at and Spry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nixon, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Huntsville Hospital.

She was born March 6, 1956, in Limestone County to William C. Sweetland and Cherrie Flanagan Sweetland. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Mrs. Nixon is survived by her father, William C. Sweetland, and his wife Roberta of Athens; two sons, Ward Johnson and wife Tabatha of Madison and Wayne Nixon of Huntsville; two daughters, Leigh Ann Bentley and husband Curt of Athens, and Elizabeth Peterson of Athens; her companion and the love of her life, Tommy “Peewee” Elders; one brother, Cody Sweetland and wife Ashley of Niceville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; one niece, Sabra Ann Sweetland; and one nephew, Will Sweetland.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
