— A memorial service for Dorothy Jean Motter, 79, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church Tanner with Gary Enfinger, Clark Theriot and Keith Turberville officiating.

Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Mrs. Motter died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Decatur General Hospital.

Dorothy Motter was born July 10, 1933, in Limestone County. She retired from Chrysler. She was a member of First Baptist Church Tanner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. “Slim” Motter; and a brother, Edward Bloodworth.

Survivors include a son, Charles Motter of Lynnville, Tenn.; daughters, Sharon McMeans and Shelia Emerson, both of Athens; grandchildren, Jaime Emerson and Clay McMeans, both of Athens, Chance Motter and Amee Rose Durham, both of Lynnville, Tenn.; great-grandson, Noah Emerson of Athens; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Bootie Turner of Athens.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Tanner or the Tanner Senior Center.
