Teresa Black was born March 5, 1951, in Colbert County. She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church.
God welcomed another very special woman to walk the golden streets of heaven. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend joined the angels in the heavenly home. A great reward achieved in so little time. Pain is made bearable with happy memories that will last forever. Teresa (also known as “Tiny” by those that loved her) left an everlasting love in our hearts. We find comfort that your spirit is with us in the sound of your voice and the flash of your smile, forever etched in our heart and soul. Knowing the next hand we touch when our trumpet sounds is yours, makes our heavenly reward richer. Embracing a future without you physically here is heartbreaking, but we will honor you in living life as you did: In celebration, an altruistic regard for others, and infinite optimism. Thank you for improving the lives around you.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Gargis.

Black of Ford City; son, Mitch Black of Ford City; daughter, Mitzi Ladner of Sheffield; mother, Hazel Gargis of Ford City; brother, Troy Gargis of Ford City; granddaughter, Koral Black of Ford City; grandsons, Beau Black and Brock Black of Ford City, Miles Ladner and Ridge Ladner, both of Sheffield; special friends, Ronnie Gargis and Trudy Craft-Austin, who gave their time and love unconditionally.
