Let's give thanks daily

— We are thankful.

There are many things that affect us as we go about our daily routines.

Bad drivers. Bad weather. Personal issues. Financial issues.

Even waking up “on the wrong side of the bed” can get our day off on the wrong foot.

And, as people, we tend to focus on the bad, instead of the good in our lives.

Criticism comes easier than a compliment.

A backhand is quicker than a handshake.

But we should pause, not just on Thursday but everyday, to give thanks.

Granted, these are troubling times and it could be hard to find a reason to be thankful but we must.

If you think about it, there is good around us to be thankful for.

Family. Health. Job. Friends. Co-workers. Loved ones.

We at The News Courier are thankful for our advertisers and our readers.

In good times and bad, we are there to serve and inform you and we take that task with utmost honor.

So, let the light of optimism shine through. It can brighten up the darkest second, moment and day.

And, no matter how dire our personal situations may appear, when we gather with our families, friends and loved ones Thursday there will be one common thread running among us:

We are thankful.
