Local resident to spend semester in Italy

Local resident David Ezell of Athens (35613) left Jan. 26 to spend a four-month semester living in Italy while studying at Harding University in Florence.

As part of the HUF curriculum, Ezell, a sophomore early childhood education major, will spend the semester immersed in Italian culture. Students will have the opportunity to visit locations such as Pisa, Rome, Pompeii, Sicily, Siena and other historically significant areas. They will be living in a 16th-century villa much like a typical Italian family, cultivating new relationships with fellow students.

Students in the program have a full course load available to them taught by visiting Harding professors. The professors also travel with the students. The classes encourage exploration and interaction among the people of Italy.
