Local residents named to honor’s list

Tony Lee Craig of Harvest was recently named to the president’s list and John T. McClung of Athens was named to the dean’s list at Mississippi College.

Athens student receives top English award

Athens native Jessica Leigh Walker received the Outstanding English Major Award during a recent honors and awards program at Athens State University.  Walker, an English major, is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Kappa Delta.

Area residents make honor’s list at Montevallo

Alex Z. Ghoja and James P. Hall, both of Elkmont, and Maribel Lagunas of Athens were recently named to the president’s list; and Lauren B. Coleman and Sarah E. Dye, both of Athens, were recently named to the dean’s list at Montevallo University.

Athens student earns degree from Auburn

Athens native Cheryl Auch recently earned a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

Auch, a 2004 graduate of Athens High School, also received an animal sciences degree in 2007 from Auburn.

Local residents named to dean's list

David Ezell, of Athens, and Amanda King and Monica Woods, both of Madison, were recently named to the dean’s list at Harding University.

Ardmore resident graduates from Marist College

Ardmore native Gaileen Cockrell recently graduated from Marist College with a Master of Arts degree in communication.
